The stew with potatoes and apples it is a really tasty recipe, a great timeless classic, in my opinion, which you can serve as a main course or second course. The typical grandma's dish, a comfort food for cool evenings that still happen in this early spring that is struggling a bit to get started. I had already tried to prepare this recipe in a more basic version, but I wanted to revisit it with the addition of apples that make the dish much more refined. As with all stews, cooking times are a bit long, but the preparation is very simple and the result is so delicious that in my opinion it is absolutely worth it ;-)


How to make stew with potatoes and apples

First of all wash and peel the apples and potatoes and cut them into pieces.

Blanch apples and potatoes for 10 minutes in salted water, then drain and set aside.

Flour the meat, then chop the onion and brown it in a knob of butter together with the bay leaf.
Also add the meat to the saucepan.

Brown it, then add the brandy.
Add apples and potatoes, cover with broth and cook over medium-low heat for about 20 minutes.
When the broth has collected, season with salt and pepper and stir in a knob of butter.

The stew with potatoes and apples is ready: place on the plate and serve immediately.
